This full-scale remodel in Orange County, California spanned the course of 3 years from demolition to install. Our clients, a young family of five, were looking for a forever home that could fit their personal lifestyle and aesthetic. The resulting home skews towards a more traditional style, with beautiful millwork and custom cabinetry details in every space. Perhaps our favorite part of this home, the personal details and family heirlooms throughout make the project feel truly unique and tailored from head to toe. These hues also allow for versatility in terms of decor and furniture selections, accommodating the changing needs and tastes of the growing family over time. Incorporating organic textures into the design added warmth and a sense of nature to the space.

I just can not get into the “Early Man” looks of primitive furniture, pottery and art pieces. All the furniture looks very uncomfortable and for the homeowner who loves pink, I just saw a pillow, 1 poster and some hand towels that has a touch of pink in them. Looks like the home was built by Patterson Homes, the best builder in Southern California imo, so I love the home itself.

The designer incorporated a neutral color palette for most of the finishes and decor while incorporating touches of blush as the main accent color throughout the interior living spaces. Taking a year-and-a-half to complete, this home showcases both feminine and effortless details throughout to make it feel warm and welcoming.

The first two people I hired when I was first starting out were very much defining elements in the growth and trajectory of our company becoming what it is today. One of these two ladies is still part of MGD, and she is very much the heart and soul behind many of our best projects and designs. As a small business owner, I take a big leap of faith each time I hire others to join our team. Yes, they are all talented and come with a unique skill set, but it’s still very much an unknown if we’re all honest. For this remodel, the designer wanted to ensure that the homeowner had an abundance of options for both entertaining and relaxing outside of the dwelling. They created both a comfortable and inviting sitting area in the front of the home, a cozy sitting area in the courtyard, and a rooftop deck for entertaining.

Over the course of 150 years much has changed in the building, but many original items remain or can be seen on display at the Lombard Historical Society, located within walking distance of our restaurant.
